Proud of OGKTMA for raising $60,000 towards House Staff Personal Protective Equipment in our Osmania, Gandhi and Kakatiya Medical Colleges, Telangana. Case Fatality Rate in India for COVID 19 has been <2% so far. But the same in Healthcare Personnel has been >12% unfortunately, due to the high viral load they get exposed to in COVID wards.
Keeping that in view, we from Telangana Medical Alumni of US (OGKTMA) donated best in class N95 masks (U.S. National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) certified) that filters at least 95% of airborne particles. Enough for 4-6 weeks for all the > 2400 Post Graduates and interns working in Osmania and Kakatiya Medical Colleges. They were distributed to house staff by concerned Principal’s Dr Shashikala & Dr Sandhya respectively! Also distributed to Gandhi Medical College house staff.
